St. Louis CITY SC is honoring a music legend with the unveiling of The Tina Turner Kit, a new secondary jersey created in collaboration with adidas. The gold-and-red kit pays tribute to Tina Turner’s legacy and her deep roots in St. Louis, where she moved as a teenager and began performing in local clubs before becoming a global icon.
The partnership is historic because it marks the first time adidas has collaborated with a female music artist on a soccer kit. Inspired by Turner’s electrifying stage presence, the jersey features shimmering gold tones, CITY Red accents, and even her silhouette and signature as part of the design details. The kit will serve as CITY SC’s alternate uniform for the 2026 and 2027 MLS seasons.
Beyond the jersey, the club is hosting a citywide celebration of Turner’s impact through music, fashion, and community events. Highlights include a tribute concert with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, a limited-time Tina Turner pop-up shop at City Foundry featuring exclusive merchandise and personal artifacts, and a new youth music curriculum created with the Center of Creative Arts (COCA), supported in part by proceeds from kit sales.
CITY SC will also hold a special Tina Turner Night at Energizer Park on Aug. 22 against the Houston Dynamo, incorporating her hit “Simply the Best” into matchday celebrations.
St. Louis CITY SC’s new kit goes beyond a jersey release, but recognizing Tina Turner’s lasting impact on the city and the role St. Louis played in shaping her rise.
