The PBA Tour is back in the St. Louis area this week as the third annual Pete Weber Missouri Classic takes over Bowlero in St. Peters. Around 90 of the top bowlers in the world are competing for a $30,000 top prize and the second PBA Tour title of the season, with the finals set for Sunday afternoon.
National tournament director Tony Lanning said it means a lot to bring the tour back to a city with such deep roots in bowling history. St. Louis has long been considered one of the sport’s hotbeds, and Lanning expects a strong local crowd to show up throughout the week.
The event honors Hall of Famer Pete Weber, one of the biggest personalities the sport has ever seen. Fittingly, today also marks the 14th anniversary of Weber’s iconic “Who do you think you are, I am” moment, a clip that still circulates across social media and helped introduce bowling to a wider audience.

Weber praised the continued national TV exposure, especially with the finals airing live on The CW at 3 p.m. on Sunday. He noted that being on network television gives today’s bowlers a bigger stage and helps the sport continue to grow.
Defending champion EJ Tackett returns after winning the event last year. Anthony Simonsen captured the title in 2024, meaning the first two champions of this event are already among the sport’s elite. That trend could continue this week with a stacked field that also includes rising stars and rookies looking to break through.
All competitors will bowl 18 games of qualifying before the field is cut to 24 for match play. The stepladder finals will wrap up the week Sunday at Bowlero St. Peters, putting St. Louis bowling back in the national spotlight.
