The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra announced its 2026-27 season, a schedule that mixes standard symphonic repertoire with new works and more live-to-film performances as activity continues at Powell Hall following its renovation.

Music Director Stéphane Denève will lead nine classical programs, starting Sept. 16 with the orchestra’s annual free concert on Art Hill. The indoor season opens with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert.

Denève is scheduled to conduct Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, Brahms’ Symphony No. 3, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 and Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, along with a full performance of Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges. The orchestra will add 20 works to its repertoire, including the St. Louis premiere of Kevin Puts’ Bassoon Concerto and Wynton Marsalis’ Symphony No. 5, “Liberty,” performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. A new violin concerto by Christopher Stark will also receive its world premiere.

The season also marks the 50th anniversary of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus. Film concerts include The Muppet Christmas Carol, Hook and Star Wars: A New Hope. Subscription packages are on sale now, with single tickets available in July 2026.
