New American Classic - "How It Begins"
The Vibe: This Pop Rock band is a Missouri thing, and they've been shaking up the scene from Springfield, but they've hit St. Louis venues hard enough to earn our love. If you dig those big, anthemic bands like Taking Back Sunday or Fall Out Boy, these guys are your new jam.
The Scoop: "How It Begins" is the perfect track for when you’re ready to finally, you know, START something. It’s got that energy, those hooks, that vibe that screams, "Let's roll!" It's a fresh, new-age power-pop blast that’s got those old-school rock 'n' roll bones. This is your soundtrack for tearing up I-64.
Joe Zempel & Bethany Conerly - "Some Kind of Ghoul"
The Vibe: Joe Zempel is a proper St. Louis singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist—the real deal. He teams up with another STL local, Bethany Conerly, and they cook up this awesome indie-folk chamber music hybrid. It's the kind of sound you put on when you're feeling deep, man.
The Scoop: "Some Kind of Ghoul" dropped back in 2020 and it's this moody, cool track that's perfect for a late-night drive down the riverfront. It's got layers and a cool, cinematic feel. Not your average track, and that's why we play it!
Pineapple RNR - "Rain Cage"
The Vibe: Get ready for some frisky St. Louis punk! Pineapple RNR is that DIY, skewed pop-punk/post-punk vibe with a killer saxophone element. Yeah, I said saxophone. It's got that jangly, upbeat feel that makes you feel like you’re at a basement show in the city with the best local crowd.
The Scoop: "Rain Cage" is a slice of that unique sound they call "i-Grass" (Irish Bluegrass... wait, wrong band, but still good!). No, seriously, it’s just pure, delightfully weird, energetic punk rock. It’s got this cool, left-of-center pop vibe that’ll grab you.
Young Animals - "Regular Legs"
The Vibe: Young Animals is a band that pops up at cool spots like Sinkhole in St. Louis, so you know they’re bringing that local, raw energy. They’ve got that scrappy, underground rock feel.
The Scoop: The track "Regular Legs" is from their 2018 Disposition album. It’s Alternative/Indie, and it’s got that raw, punchy vibe. It's the kind of tune that feels totally relatable—like, yeah, I'm just getting by on my regular legs, but I'm doing it to a killer soundtrack!
The Death - "Kerosene"
The Vibe: I love this song and I love this band. I had never heard of them until doing some research for this show. But The Death is seriously got some massive talent behind them.
The Scoop: I saw that one of their most listened to songs was called Kerosene…I listened…I was NOT disappointed.
Fivefold - "Night Terror"
The Vibe: This is a full-on St. Louis Alternative Rock band. They're all about those heavy guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and choruses you can actually sing along to. Their music gets deep, tackling personal challenges and identity.
The Scoop: "Night Terror," off their album FILL IN THE BLANK, is one of their newer tracks and it goes there. It captures that feeling of panic and being defenseless in a bad dream. It’s a banger that's also introspective—a perfect combo for a deep cut that still hits hard! — Mark Otto WINS THIS WEEK’S PICK OR TREAT. $40 bucks.
LOCAL CALL BACK: Jibbs - "King Kong"
The Vibe: You know him! Jibbs is a St. Louis native—a rapper who put the Lou on the map with his 2006 hit "Chain Hang Low." He’s a legend of the mid-2000s STL hip-hop scene.
The Scoop: "King Kong" was his second single off Jibbs Featuring Jibbs, and it’s a straight-up club anthem featuring Chamillionaire. It’s not about the giant ape, man—it’s a reference to a super loud, powerful speaker system, those bass shakers in the trunk of a car. If you were cruising down Grand Ave back in the day, this song was probably rattling your windows!
Keyon Harrold - "Beautiful Day"
The Vibe: This cat is a world-renowned trumpeter, composer, and bandleader—and he’s from Ferguson, MO! Wynton Marsalis himself called him "The Future of The Trumpet." This is sophisticated, soulful jazz that has a message. He's been the trumpet voice for Miles Davis in the biopic Miles Ahead and worked with everybody from Beyoncé to Common.
The Scoop: "Beautiful Day," featuring PJ Morton, is off his album Foreverland. It’s a gorgeous, soulful song that came from a heart-to-heart talk about life. It’s the kind of uplifting track that reminds you to just breathe and appreciate the moment. Seriously, a world-class talent from the 314!
Pono AM - "Good Vibes"
The Vibe: Pono AM is a band that consistently plays in the St. Louis area, showing up at places like The Old Rock House. Their vibe is right there in the title of the track we're playing: Good Vibes. They've got a sound that is just pure feel-good, breezy, and perfect for when you need to chill out.
The Scoop: "Good Vibes" is one of their most popular tracks. It's got that breezy, easy-listening flow that is exactly what you need after a long day of navigating the Poplar Street Bridge. Turn it up and let the good times roll!
Major Concerts happening on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025
Michigander & Oliver Hazard
The Vibe: This is a solid "Made In The Midwest" bill. Michigander is the indie-pop project of Jason Singer, and they specialize in feel-good, slightly shimmery rock songs that just stick with you. They've got a great mix of big stadium-ready sound and honest, heartfelt lyrics. Oliver Hazard brings a folksy, indie sound that’s a little more laid-back but equally awesome. It’s the perfect show for catching two bands on the rise before they blow up.

Michigander: "Let Down"

Twilight in Concert
The Vibe: Remember the movie franchise about the sparkly vampires? Well, this is the entire film with a full orchestra performing Carter Burwell's haunting score live. This isn't a traditional rock band, but it's a massive musical event where you get to watch the movie while the orchestra is absolutely crushing the soundtrack. Get ready for a night of epic, emotional scores and maybe a few yells of Team Edward or Team Jacob from the crowd.
The Opener: Just the live orchestra—they are the show!

🎸 Plain White T’s & We The Kings
The Vibe: Oh, baby, this is a throwback to the glory days of emo/pop-punk! Plain White T’s are the kings of that acoustic, tear-in-your-beer ballad that everybody knows, but they’ve also got those crunchy, catchy pop-rock tunes. They’re touring with We The Kings, another band that defined that mid-2000s era of catchy, high-energy pop-punk that sounded great on your first iPod Nano. Get ready to yell-sing along to some major nostalgia.

🤘 Buckcherry
The Vibe: If you need some unapologetic, swaggering, sleazy rock and roll, Buckcherry is your band. These guys are loud, gritty, and they've been bringing that classic Sunset Strip hard rock energy for decades. They’re straight-up rock and roll that's not trying to be anything fancy—just big riffs, big hooks, and a great time.
The Opener: Not listed, but they always bring the rock.
The Venue: Pop's (Sauget, IL—just across the river!)
The Price: Starting around $78
Most Popular Song: "Crazy Bitch"
