Fall is here….and that means….nothing to me.  Except I know the cold winter is right around the corner.  However - this does mean the start of bonfire season.  If you’re anything like me, a bonfire on a cool night with the tunes on. Spectacular.  So, here are some local artists that you can add to YOUR playlist this fall!

First up, we got Hockey Fights STL. These guys are a full-on throwback to that early 2000s, emo-pop-punk sound. Think of 'em as the soundtrack to a basement show where everyone's wearing skinny jeans and feeling all the feels. They’ve got that signature sound that'll make you wanna get in the pit and scream along.

Then you got Big Boss Vette, the pride of North City. This chick's got a swagger you can't fake. She's been grinding for years, going viral on TikTok and now she's with a major label. Vette's sound is pure, unfiltered St. Louis hip-hop—raw, confident, and perfect for when you're getting ready to hit the club.

Now for a little rock 'n' roll, we got Fivefold. These fellas came up in the St. Louis rock scene and have been through some stuff, but they keep cranking out killer tunes. Their sound is a powerful mix of alternative and post-hardcore with some serious emotion. Their songs are the kind you put on when you're driving with the windows down and just need to let it all out.

Next is the Christian rapper Flame, who teamed up with NF on "Start Over." Flame, born and raised in the Lou, has been nominated for a bunch of awards and is a huge name in Christian hip-hop. He's got a master's degree in theology and he's all about spreading that good word through his music. It's a different vibe, but you can't deny the message.

For our local call back, we've got a couple of classics. First, Pretty Willie with "Roll Wit Me." Willie Moore Jr., as he's now known, was a big-time track star before he blew up with his R&B and hip-hop hits. He had a couple of jams on movie soundtracks and even had his own radio show. Dude was everywhere back in the day.

And the other local call back is MU330. These guys are a legendary St. Louis ska punk band. They literally met in their high school music class, room 330, and the rest is history. They've been a staple of the scene for decades with their high-energy, humorous, and sometimes-weird brand of "psycho ska."

Let's not forget Washington Avenue. This is a rock and roll band out of Crystal City, Missouri, that formed during the pandemic lockdown. They've got a classic rock sound, with influences from The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. The band is made up of a few college kids, so they're just getting started on their journey.

Then there's Reggie Pearl & The Public. This indie rock musician from St. Louis is all about confronting real stuff like addiction and toxic relationships through their music. They've got a raw, emotional sound with some serious introspection. Their latest EP, REGICIDE, is a powerful statement against power structures and patriarchy.

And finally, we've got Little Cowboy. This is another band with that old-school St. Louis indie rock vibe. They’ve been kicking around the local scene, playing those smaller, intimate shows. Their song "Maybe" is the kind of tune that just grabs you and doesn't let go—it's got that raw, heartfelt quality that a lot of people can relate to.
