✈️ Boeing Union Rejects Contract, Strike Continues – More than 3,200 Boeing defense workers in the St. Louis region remain on strike after 57% of members rejected a new 5-year deal Friday. Union leaders say employees deserve stronger pay and benefits. Boeing called the offer its “best yet” but is moving forward with hiring replacement workers.
🚨 Charlie Kirk Shooter in Custody – President Donald Trump announced Friday that the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing has been arrested. Authorities identified him as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah.
🏌️ New PGA Superstore Opens in Manchester – Golf fans camped out all week ahead of Saturday’s 9 a.m. grand opening. The store is giving away $30,000 in prizes, including clubs, apparel, and launch monitors from St. Louis-based Rapsodo.
🤖 QuikTrip Deploys Cleaning Robots – Locations across St. Louis are rolling out automated scrubbers to handle store floors. Staff have even started giving them nicknames like “Scrubecca.”
🔥 Burn Ban in Troy, MO – Due to dry conditions, the Troy Fire Protection District has banned all burning until further notice to prevent wildfires.
🚭 “Free Weed” Stunt Backfires – Exotic Smokes #2 in South City was denied reopening after a July police raid. City leaders cited unlicensed sales and a controversial “Free Weed” sign. The shop may now sue to reopen.

On this day in 2005, the home where Jimi Hendrix grew up in Seattle was saved from demolition after a new location was agreed at the last minute. The James Marshall Hendrix Foundation and the City of Seattle agreed to renovate the building into a community centre opposite the cemetery where the guitarist was buried in 1970.
