The annual Gateway Scholars Football Classic is set to return to Clyde C. Jordan Stadium in East St. Louis on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, showcasing some of the best high school football talent from across the country.
The event will feature multiple matchups, including the defending Illinois Class 6A state champions, the East St. Louis Flyers, taking on the Gadsden County Jaguars (Havana, Fla.) in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m.
Thousands of fans are expected to pack the stadium for a full day of football, with teams ranging from nationally ranked programs to state champions. Other matchups include Mt. Zion Prep (Md.) vs. St. Francis (Ill.), Lift for Life Academy (Mo.) vs. Cahokia Heights (Ill.), and a girls flag football opener between Belleville East and East St. Louis.
The Flyers, who opened their season on the East Coast with a narrow 22-21 loss to Bergen Catholic at the Battle at the Beach Classic, now return home eager to make a statement. With another promising season ahead, their showdown against Gadsden County will provide an early test and a chance to showcase the talent and depth that make them one of the nationβs top programs.
For those unable to attend, every Flyers game will be broadcast live on 590 KLIS, the teamβs official radio home, with Maurice Scott on the call. Fans anywhere can listen on KLIS 590 AM or stream at LouInfo.com.
Tickets are $10 for all-day access and can be purchased online now at GoFan.
