🛣️ St. Peters Road Buckles from Extreme Heat: Extreme heat caused West Sunny Hill Boulevard in St. Peters to buckle, prompting a traffic advisory and lane-sharing detour until repairs are completed by June 30. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes and check the St. Peters Streets app for updates.
🍰 McArthur’s Bakery Closing Storefront, Going Online: McArthur’s Bakery will shut down its Lemay Ferry storefront on July 11 and shift to an online-only model due to rising costs and declining sales. Cakes will still be available for pickup or limited delivery.
👮♂️ Missouri AG Files to Remove St. Louis Sheriff: Attorney General Andrew Bailey has filed a quo warranto petition to remove St. Louis Sheriff Alfred Montgomery over alleged misconduct, including nepotism, misuse of deputies, and failure to transport inmates. Montgomery denies the claims and refuses to resign.
🌪️ FEMA Canvasses St. Louis After Tornado: FEMA teams are going door-to-door in tornado-hit neighborhoods to help residents access disaster recovery resources and complete assistance applications. Over 3,100 applications have been approved, and the Disaster Recovery Center at Union Tabernacle remains open daily.
